LOVELY STUFF: FAMILIES

while i realize you never really really know someone just through their blog or any sort of internet profile, you can get to know them pretty well. some of my very favorite blogs feature families with kids of all ages. i know i won’t be starting a family of my own for quite a while but i still enjoy reading the ins and outs of motherhood.

(design mom) gabrielle blair’s family just seems so sweet and genuine.. like you want to just hang out with them all day. they recently started a cool video series called “olive us“. i love the way they shot this first episode.

colorado adventures

the past week was spent helping some friends move up to colorado! i’ve never been so i was excited to see the beautiful mountains. since the majority of the time there was spent moving things, putting together ikea furniture or decorating the new house i mostly snapped pics of their beauitful daughter, everly. she’s growing so fast! i’m sure the next time i see her she’ll be a toddler (crr-aaa-zyyy). i did, however, get some fun pictures of us when we drove through the mountains. my favorite place was a tiny mountain village-y town called lyons. it was gorgeous! now it’s time to jump back into my real life and daily routine. lots and lots of work to catch up on! hope you all had a lovely week. xo!

Hey cool! I was born and raised in Longmont, Colorado very close to Lyons and Estes Park! My friends and I would always go up to Lyons in the summer bbq, swim and go tubing :)We would also visit the local pub there. Estes Park too they have the best little shops! Many good memories there. I miss Colorado. Hope your weekends great!

my apologies for this obnoxious GIF.. but I made to get your attention somehow! ;-]

a local dallas mag called D magazine puts together their “best of big D” list every year and allows their readers to vote for their favorites. last year i was nominated under the “best family photographers” category and i’m so excited to be on the ballot again (next to some pretty great photogs i might add) so votevotevote. pretty please? i’ll be your best friennnnnd. you can vote once a day per computer, smart phone, ipad, etc. it’s really simple.

now i’m sure you’re thinking yeah.. i should go vote for her but i don’t wanna fill out one of those really annoying information pages to do so and get bombarded with junk mail i won’t care about….

before writing this post i decided to look up the dictionary definition of “mother” just for fun. well, needless to say it’s pretty boring and doesn’t quite do it for me! a mom is so much more than “a female parent”, at least for me. i was lucky enough to have been blessed with an amazing mom who instilled me with creativity, confidence, self-respect, love, a sense of humor and a whole lot more. in the interest of keeping this post short & sweet (and not getting me all teary-eyed) i just want to say… thank you, mama. for everything! i know you read my blog from time to time so i hope you see this! you’re the greatest mama bear that ever lived!

and i think we look alike :-]
